EEDA Newsletter Vol 7, Issue 2: Building a Village, Reporting ICE, & Getting What I Want

Hi friends! The last couple of weeks have already been 525,600 minutes long. I lost another family member to cancer and I fear the moments when the grief catches up to me. I had an amazing sauna experience and soon we’re taking a train trip. We finally got the chairs we ordered (more about that in the essay below) and I’m trying to get my feet under me this new year. In my off-week from this newsletter, I managed to write a new issue of Optimistic Hoarder.
Newest EEDA Pod: You Don’t Serve Your Goals: 2025 Reflections & 2026 Plans
Happy New Year! In this episode of Enthusiastic Encouragement & Dubious Advice, Patricia and Nicole review their 2025 goals and set intentions for 2026. They reflect on successes while acknowledging they didn't accomplish everything, and that’s okay! They also announce the 2026 goal check-in for Patreon subscribers.

Here’s what I’ve hunted and gathered for you this week:
Resource 1: 60+ Small Tasks to Defend the Right to Read by Kelly Jensen for Literary Activism via Book Riot
The link has so much more detail than what I can put here
Resource 2: How to Build a Village via NPR’s LifeKit
I recently listened to this episode of LifeKit and it really resonated, probably because I’ve said a lot of it in this newsletter or on EEDA Pod. It’s a quick ~20 minutes and worth the listen!
Resource 3: How to Report ICE Printable Zine Library
It is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a library of downloadable zines in English and Spanish that you could print and hand out. How one reports ICE depends on your geographic area and so each zine is specific to an area. For example, if you’re in Portland, OR then you’re going to want to download and print this one which includes the number for the Portland Immigration Rights Coalition.
Resource 4: 2026 Reading Log by Tirzah Price
The link has so much more detail than what I can put here
Resource 5: Personal Productivity Templates for Notion
Do you use Notion and like to track things? Well, the above link is an absolute gift!
