EEDA Newsletter Vol 6, Res 29: Life Cheat Codes & Being Bored
This is a public issue of Enthusiastic Encouragement & Dubious Advice. Feel free to share it!
Hi friends! Nicole is still doing a fundraiser for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, which involves TWO 5k walk/runs. If you are able, please donate a few bucks and if you can’t, please feel free to share the link!
I have been stretched very thin lately for a number of reasons, not all bad. There’s just a lot going on and I’m doing my best to keep my head above water. I hope you are too.
Also: Get your Covid vaccine and your flu vaccine if you can! I’ll be getting mine this weekend.
Also also: I did one of the scariest things I could think of, which is singing on the internet; but now that I have that off my chest, everything else feels easy. No, I’m not going to link it but if you find it, have fun!
It’s a resource week so let’s get to it!
Resource 1: AskReddit: What's a "cheat code" you discovered in real life that actually works?
I’m just gonna let you fall down this rabbit hole.
Resource 2: You Need to Be Bored. Here's Why. via Harvard Business Review (video)
I think about this topic a lot but mostly in the vein of “I don’t allow myself to be bored enough.” Those few times that I have actually scheduled in “boredom time,” had been really helpful and I need to do more of that. If this video is interesting to you, I recommend the book Bored and Brilliant: How Spacing Out Can Unlock Your Most Productive and Creative Self by Manoush Zomorodi
