This is a public issue of Enthusiastic Encouragement & Dubious Advice. Feel free to share it!

Hi friends! Nicole is doing a fundraiser for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, which involves TWO 5k walk/runs. If you are able, please donate a few bucks and if you can’t, please feel free to share the link!

Earlier this week I was reminded by a former colleague, Amanda, of Galatians 6:7:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap

ANYWAY, we finally ordered the reading chairs of my dreams. I chose a bright orange fabric and the guy at the furniture store practically levitated with joy. He is so happy that someone ordered furniture in an actual color and not gray or beige.

Don’t forget about last week’s EEDA Pod episode, a replay of one from early last year: Encore: Burnout is Not Your Fault.

It’s a resource week so let’s get to it!

Resource 1: ‘It's Just a Mess:' 23 People Explain How Tariffs Have Suddenly Ruined Their Hobby by Jason Koebler via 404 Media

Not enough people understand how the supply chain works or how manufacturing works and so I keep hearing people say things like, “Well, maybe the tariff’s will make people buy things made in the U.S.” This is not at all how it’s gonna go and it’s already started. I tried to buy a bra. The bra is $76. It is from a UK company. They were going to charge me $75 in duties and fees (i.e., tariffs & paperwork) for the $76 bra.

I found the article above to be an accessible way to understand how tariffs are affecting people like you and I. Real-life anecdotes are helpful in beginning to understand the scope of how incredibly fucked the tariff situation is.

Resource 2: COMIC: Tricks to snap yourself out of a funk (in 15 minutes or less) via NPR’s Life Kit

As with most things, your mileage may vary with this one but I still thought it was a worthy share. Making art is definitely one that consistently helps me.
