This is a public issue of Enthusiastic Encouragement & Dubious Advice. Feel free to share it!

Hi friends! How we are halfway through 2025 already I do not know. We’re finishing the third 4-day week in a row for us, as we took last Friday off for Trans March. They estimated around 20,000 - 25,000 people. We hung out with friends and marched for a bit and it was wonderful. Over the weekend, we did our usual chores and errands plus some gardening. We harvested our garlic and some look like they’re okay and some are hella small. We don’t know if any of them truly bulbed into multiple cloves or if the conditions weren’t right and we ended up with a bunch of what I’m referring to as “GORLIC,” just single, giant cloves. We hung some racks so that we could cure them and now the kitchen has a rustic, Tuscan feel on one wall. I also made an amazing video of the garlic that has given me an endless amount of laughter. Hey, we gotta find our joy where we can.

7/3 FYI: I wrote this newsletter earlier this week because I’m super busy and that was before The Bill passed and I’m jumping on here to add these videos that I’ve found helpful in the immediate aftermath of this:

It’s another resource week so let’s get to it!

Resource 1: Why and How to Celebrate Disability Pride Month via The Arc

There is a mix of feelings within the disability community about The Arc as an organization; however, this overview of Disability Pride Month is helpful and also has links to various Disability Pride celebrations throughout the U.S.

Resource 2: Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century edited by Alice Wong

Very few books rearrange my entire worldview more than books about disability. I wrote more about this book in my recommendation a few years ago and it’s still one worth recommending.

Resource 3: Productivity Tool Roundup

Let me start with this: the push for productivity and the value placed on productivity is rooted in ableism. At the same time, I really appreciate ways to organize my to-do lists. So here we are. I have only used a couple things on this list (Todoist, Notion) but I like them and I’m curious about the other mentions. I’ve Tried 50+ Productivity Tools — Here are My Top 9 by Kirsti Lang for Buffer.
