Hi friends! My truck is in the shop so we only have Nicole’s car right now, which is a manual. I’ve not driven a manual in 20+ years and I am an agent of chaos so I watched a 7-minute video on YouTube (lol) and Nicole took me to an empty parking lot to practice for about 30 minutes. Aside from stalling once in reverse during practice, I mostly have the hang of it again. It’s exhilarating! Also, wow, our neighborhood has so many hills I’ve never noticed. I am also noticing that other drivers really offer no grace for learners (not that they know I’m relearning) but still. Jinkies.
It’s been a while since I’ve sent out an essay and my new therapist said something to me last week that has me shook so I’m going to write about that today. If you’re new here, you can find all issues (both free and paywalled) over at https://www.theinfophile.com/archive/.
