Hi friends! The days are getting shorter and I’m feeling more like myself as the weather cools. My energy has increased a bit and I look forward to crisper mornings. We ordered our holiday cards before the companies stop giving discounts and we will be filling out our ballots this weekend. The past few weeks have been moving at a breakneck speed and things are slowing down to a manageable pace. Not actually slow, just manageable.
Last Friday, a fire started in the Oakland hills quite close to where we live, close enough for me to be scared. Close enough for me to walk around and take photos of our belongings for insurance purposes. It was the anniversary of the 1991 fire. I was twelve and I still remember it all too well. To make things harder, Nicole was working at home and I had to leave to go “volunteer” at my job until the evening so she would just text me updates.
