Hi friends! This week I learned something about myself: I can better handle reading horror if I read via audiobook. For some reason, reading horror in ebook or physical book form freaks me out too much. I switched to audiobook to continue reading Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror edited by Jordan Peele & John Joseph Adams, which I had started in September of last year and I was able to finally finish it in a couple of days. I am now reading the self-help book that Octavia E. Butler says she had read that really shifted her perspective and was the impetus behind her famed journals, a couple lines of which I have tattooed on my arm. The book was written in 1959 and I won’t say too much here because I’m sure I’ll write about it when I’m done. Old self-help is a trip!
